trimming down White Diamond tips

"way" = method and tools
I use a utility knife to trip leather tips but I doubt that it will work on these tips

I've used a razor blade to trim white diamonds down. It worked fine, just go slower than you would for a leather tip.

Thanks!

I guess it's all in the wrist.....

I used my usual technic and tools and this is the end results, not perfect but it looks good enough.... I'm just hoping it won't pop off after the first break... :eek:

While the shaft is still in the lathe and spinning go over it with a file to round it out and smooth it (the end of the tip not the side).....Dave

Thanks
but the whole idea was how to do it when you don't have a lathe....:rolleyes:

I got it rounded a bit and it doesn't need to be smooth otherwise it won't hold chalk

I've never had any problems with mine staying on with plain ol' gel superglue. I love these tips because they hold chalk so much better than a phenolic or G10 tip and you can shape them with a regular tip shaper.

The original tip popped off and I've glued it back on and again...
On the third time I glued it a bit off center so I cut it off and I had to use a new tip that I had as backup.
I used super glue gel but now I used the regular super glue, I hope it'll give a stronger bond.
