I dont build many cues, I want a easy but nice finish
Do you suppose this is similar to tung oil?Not a cue maker but try it. Take your time. It’s easy to apply. It’s durable. There’s a reason
it’s used on gun/shotgun stocks. These have few coats and not sanded until perfection but came out nice. I had to finish a few area on a Schon H4 and used Tru.
Those turned items were badly cues from a junk Pike.
'Tru-Oil' is made from a mixture of 56% mineral paint thinners, 33% oil varnish and 11% linseed or Tung oil....something like that.Do you suppose this is similar to tung oil?
Read about it. Apply.. wait X amount of hours and reapply.. etc. It’s not like CA.How long does it take to dry?
That depends on how thickly it is applied. it needs to be completely dry, not tacky at all, when the next coat is applied. I've used it many times on gun stocks and thinned it with linseed oil and heated it slightly over a tea candle. I hand rubbed the oil in with a bare hand. You will be able to feel how much you are applying. Keep it thin and even. How long does it take to dry?
