I'm not one to go into all of the minutiae on a pool cue, i simply focus on the basics - aesthetic (important to some), the feel in the hands (is it comfortable & does it inspire confidence?), the hit and how consistently I pocket balls with it. This one has been excelling in all of the above. The JF20-23, the top cue in their Aspirant series.
As I'm enjoying a strongly renewed interest in pool, I've been bringing multiple cues with me (I have 5) to see which one is most closely going to bring me where I want to be with my game. This one (my newest) is bringing me closest and reaffirming that with every night at the table and it's not just because it's new. I love my other cues and want them to be as consistent for me. They just aren't. By minimal degrees, of course, but easily noticed (and enjoyed!).
This cue is a delight! It feels as if all parts of it were designed specifically to work together. I've done shaft swapping on my other cues, to varying results, some good, some not so much, searching for a winning combination. This cue doesn't make me want to change any of its parts out. I kept the Classic CF shaft it came with, opting for the 11.8 tip diameter. I also kept the Taom Fusion tip it comes with.
What works for me, of course, may not work for you, but this cue isn't just a cheap effort to move some product. It's well crafted and beautiful, with an obvious determination to make it a very playable cue. It's my opinion that they've succeeded nicely.
