2002 Murray Tucker cue, done in the SW look.
- Leather wrap and 4 shafts (all done by Murray).
- Two of the shafts weigh approx. 3.5 oz and are 12.75 & 13 mm.
- The other two shafts (made about 2 months after the first two) weigh 3.9 and 4.0 oz. and are 13 mm.
- Butt weighs 15.5 oz.

You will notice in one of the pictures that the rings on the two newer shafts don't match exactly. Also, the older two shafts have yellowed finish due to some bad sealer. You can see Murray's explanation (post #4) and other information on the cue in this thread: http://forums.azbilliards.com/showthread.php?t=85041

The butt has one small scuff on the buttcap that is shown in the picture, and one that I did not origiinally see on the butt near the joint (see the newly added picture in one of the posts below). One of the yellowed shafts has a several finish "crackles", that I originally thought were scratches from bumping the table. The cue is a "players" cue and has been used.

Cue is sold. Thanks.

What a give away!

Those shafts have to be $600.00-$800.00 alone!
Murry had a 6 month-8 month wait when I talked with him 2 years ago!
I would say he is underappreciated but he is really more a workaholic than cue maker. How he finds the time between family and work to build cues and have them come out like this cue is amazing!

Great cue!
Nick :)

Okay, maybe this will help...

Murray is currently NOT accepting any orders...nada, none, zilch, zippo!

Additionally, since Murray began crafting these phenomenal players, I would venture a guess that he has not even broken the 100 mark for total cues made. These are extremely low numbers, and makes them quite difficult to find...even on the secondary market. Add to that that very often they are traded or sold between current Tucker owners.

If you are a lover of flat-faced wood/wood big pin joints...this may very well be the cue for you!

I know, many here will say...well, if you like it so much, buy it! Truth be told, if I have the available funds, and were not waiting on another cue which is nearly complete...I would have snapped this one up in a New York minute!!...it would have never even gotten the chance to be listed. They play just THAT good! :)

Bump with a cause.

Unless Tucker made an EXACT duplicate, I bought this cue several years ago and sold it in a moment of sheer stupidity.
Nice cue with a nice hit. I was shooting a lot of bar leagues and couldn't keep the unwashed masses away from my cues :D. I think I bought a Meucci to replace it  .

A Moochi to replace a Tucker?!!! You had to have been under the influence of some cheap hallucinogen at the time!! They don't call it 'Wacky Tobacky' for nothing! :p Jus' kiddin'...LoL! :)

Hey, we have all made the mistake of letting a great cue get away from us...it's generally a lesson hard learned. :o

Lisa

Thank you Lisa and Elkabong for the kind words. This cue does play great. If it had a SS joint, I would keep it. I know, I know.....you could supposedly tape the joint and no one could "feel" the difference. Call me boneheaded and weird....

If it does not sell before, I will have the cue at Super Billiards Expo next week for anyone to check out. Thanks for looking.

Scott

Scott, best of luck with the SECOND sale and to everyone reading, there is not a more honest, trustworthy guy than Scott.

See you soon pal,
Koop

I agree, Koop.... I only find it ironic that the person who "bought" this cue then tried to resell it before he even received it, they didn't bite on it, so he now wants his money back....

Goddamn nits everywhere.....

This cue is worth the $$ if you're a flat face type person.

Since 1pRoscoe wants to have his two cents, heres how everything went downI PM'd runscott before I ever received this Tucker SW to see if he would entertain a trade for his Tucker Titlist or the cue of Murray's I was outbid for on Ebay, he declined
I PM'd Jazz ( as I have several times with different cues) to see if he was interesed in a trade to get my old Shick Titlist back, he declined, I also told Jazz I was not yet even in possestion of the cue.
Immedatly upon receiving the cue (I photo'd and sent the ower) pic's of two flaws I considered a deal braker.
One shaft has one dozen (yes I counted them) what I termed finish crackes above the joint collar, the seller said they were table scratches, what ever.
Also there was a spot on the butt near the joint that I consider a semi-pro touch up of a ding as it appears that a lump of clear was applied on the ding and on a lathe ( I say that as all the polishing marks encircle the forearm) and in a effort to polish that lump down the clear finish coat was burned through. I PM'd Murray asking if this could be overspryed/air brushed and buffed out.
Hear are the pics I sent the seller;
Now I'm accused of buyers remorse and trying to flip?

The buyer was not happy with my original description or the condition of the cue. I'm not looking for a he said/he said situation and have agreed to reverse the original deal and move on. As far as I know, Panhdlce and I are going down that path. Thanks.

Well...I didn't exactly REPLACE it with a Meucci.
I had other custom & production cues that were getting more play time and decided to pass it on for a little profit. It went up a couple hundred in the year or so I owned it.

The jury's still out on "retarded" for other reasons I'm sure  .

I have owned many collectable firearms that I've let go and later regretted much more than this cue.
