turn down shaft or buy new LD shaft?

Yes it's a low deflection shaft, but they have done it in a sensible way, so the shaft doesn't have the same issues as Predator Z/314 and OB shafts have where you hollow out the shafts so much and put on flimsy ferrules that tend to break or crack all the time. As a bonus you get a shaft with a better feel. Hollowed out shafts tend to feel more dead imo.
Is this bias on actual reality...? I've owned a Z2 for decades that has the original ferrule and I've beaten on that cue with reckless abandon and experienced zero problems. I also currently play with a non-laminate LD shaft from Mezz that also has the shaft drilled out. No problems there either. Neither shaft I would call dead...

I understand my experiences may be the exception, but I'm rarely that lucky

Z and 314 shafts + 1st and second generation OB shafts are overrepresented in my shop and I've been doing this for close to 15 years now..

Ive only seen issues with the OB 1 and OB 2 with the wood ferrules....my dad has a pre cat 314 that hes used daily for 20 years with no issues
