Turning a G-Core shaft??

I have a customer that wants his G-Core shaft turned down to 12.25 mm. He wants it turned because he likes a smaller diameter and there is a dent that turning would remove.

I can't seem to find any specs on the shaft as to how much wood is over the core. Can it be turned down that far?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Here's the response I got when I asked McDermott a several months ago.

G-Core shafts can be turned down. We recommend a diameter no smaller than 11.75mm due to the carbon fiber core.
