Turning Down a Shaft

I'm going to purchase my first custom cue (a Dominiak Sweet 16) and was wondering about having the shaft turned down to 12mm. Would it be ok to turn down the Dominator II that much? Would it increase/decrease deflection and how would it effect the hit?

Are you buying it from Dominiak?
They will make custom shafts for you so I don't see why they can't do a 12mm for you. If you're buying it used, I would contact Dominiak and
inquire.

If you're having someone else turn it down for you, it most likely won't be done all at once.
