Two fundamentals of pool to avoid sounding foolish for years

I have recently arrived at a conclusion of pool, a truth, and I invite anyone to try to refute me. You beginners, listen to me, and you will sound a lot smarter for years whenever you are playing pool, around pool, or talking about pool.

There are two fundamentals of pool.

The first, and most important, is to have a mind that is capable of both playing pool and learning pool skills. If you don't know the traits of such a mind, you should read some books or ask someone what kind of mind it takes to practice, learn, and compete in billiards.

The second fundamental, that is less important than the first, is to have a consistently straight and quality stroke. If you don't know how important a straight stroke is, you should do some study or ask someone and figure it out. You should also at least periodically do some work to keep your stroke straight.

If you don't have both of the two fundamentals, and you are talking about english, diamonds, speed, diamond systems, jump shots, bank shots, kick shots, masses, or any other billiard technique, you are to some degree BSing the people that you are talking to. Simple as that. Your speech about such topics without the first two fundamentals is a joke.

I'm cured. I banned myself from Clubhouse pool. Cannot be in that environment. Most bangers are content...only play for social pleasure. They have no intention of improving. They have 6 months experience x's many years.

There are many pro's that don't even have straight strokes, I think the more important thing is a consistent repeatable stroke.
 
I think it’s being able to make a table length straight in shot on the 8 ball while in an alcohol induced haze in a smoke filled room with two hotties dancing in front of an over cranked jukebox after you just returned from the sativa line at the back door with your whole team rooting for you, but that’s just me!

Some thoughts should just stay in your head. Simple as that. You believing you have had some sort of epiphany is a joke.

While I don't disagree with the main points of your post, I will suggest that your post is written in a way that seems rather provocative, like you are asking for a fight or to be criticized more than engaged in a meaningful dialogue.

It's not a great idea to walk into a pool hall full of seasoned players and say, "I'm about to tell you all how it is," and this board is probably a similar environment.
 
This feels like proudly proclaiming to all that you've discovered that water is wet.

Yeah...being able to learn and having a consistently straight stroke are important. That isn't any kind of revelation to anyone that has played pool for a while.
