Don't shoot them. It's a low percentage shot.
They can be difficult but you can attain some proficiency by consistent practice. First you have to establish a benchmark shot.
Use some paper hole protectors to accurately establish a cue ball and object ball placement. Try this shot with just a little draw. Remember where the object ball hits on the second rail. This is the key.
When you get a feel for this, then set up another shot such as a cross corner shot.
I'm sure you will find some success with this method. These shots do come in very handy, especially in One Pocket.
