does the type of pin affect your game? i've been hearing some people saying that they prefer this type of pin over that...some people say using wood to wood with radial pin is better, some say otherwise. wood to wood looks kinda frail to me...i dont know:confused: ...comments please, thanks! :)

Will the pin affect your game? I doubt it but it does influence the hit, balance and stiffness. I believe a flat faced joint transfers "feel" of a hit better than a piloted joint myself. Others I'm sure feel differently. I also believe that a larger pin going into wood instead of an insert is actually stronger rather than more frail.

FYI...there's a wonderful 'search' feature here that if used, will answer probably every question you can think of regarding joints & pins.

I agree with you Dick expecially with the Radial pin. Its threads are so smooth and highly polished that I can fine no discernable wear in the wood threads years after the cue was made. Not so with the 3/8-10.
