Watched an hour or so last night and agree the gray cloth does not carry over well on TV. N. Oi played a draw shot and I thought the cue ball reaction looked weird; turns out it hit the rail and I couldn't see where the cloth and rail intersected.

This caught my eye and I don't mean to bring up MC in this thread. Merely pondering if it explains him going 4-7 in MC singles appearances since covid. I may be extrapolating too hard.

Feijen is such a nice guy away from the table, but when he's playing, he always looks like he's going to stomp on his opponent's head! One of my all-time favs.

If he knew what he knows about the game now 15-20 years ago, he'd have many more titles than he already does. This could apply to lots of other players, I suppose, but I am not sure I have seen a player's game grow so much between his mid to late 20s to his late 40s.

They do, though the mechanism is unclear. No reason to think Feijen and Filler would be set to play once the round of 64 starts - assuming Josh wins.

I'm curious if anyone knows what happened in the Ebert vs. Leinen match when it was 2-1 Ebert. I was watching and Ebert got out to go up 3-1 then I saw the ref confer with both of them and they made the score 2-2. I looked back on the end of the rack and didn't see anything out of the ordinary.

The score was posted incorrectly on the screen. The score was really 2-1 in favor of Leinein when Ebert won the fourth rack.

The score was then listed as 3-1 in favor of Ebert, before being corrected to 2-2.

I've been wondering something, did they move the US open 9 ball to texas because the state has one of the longest running 9 ball tournaments in the country with the Texas open? Also, I know there was some documentary released within the last year or so about pool in texas.

I know those are stretches but any chance those two things had a say in them going there this year?

I like the central location. It can be like an 8 or 10 hour drive from so many parts of the country.

Was watching Albert Januarta yesterday. He fell behind 4-0 to John Morra. I started practicing for a while, and when I looked up, Januarta was up 8-4. He won the next rack to get through to the knockout stage. Morra never had a chance.

He turned 18 in January and might already be a top 20 player globally. Amazing talent.
