UCCNC works fine on win 11 but I prefer to use a non-networked windows 7 machine. Less system processes going on in the background is better for any CNC control.

I'm setting up a stand-alone dedicated laptop for my I2R and for a 2 axis cnc lathe I got an amazing deal on. I had only ever used UCCNC but the terds won't let me put it on another computer without purchasing another license key (I got it free years ago as a bonus for buying VCarve pro for the I2R cnc). So I began researching Mach 3 but several folks wrote reviews about getting error codes when they tried to use it on the same brand of laptop I have for the stand-alone unit. The lathe came with a very basic software suite but there are literally no written instructions nor tutorials available in English. Frustrating to say the lease. The controller does work with Mach 3 I just wanted to make sure it would run on windows 11. I've got Kelly's cue-cut software so CAD for cues on the lathe is not a problem. The company sent me an enormous package of DFX file projects from pens, drumsticks, wands, beads, boxes, peacepipe designs and even hollow forms like bowls and dishes. Those all run easily on the lathe software they sent.
Thank you guys for the help. I really appreciate it.
