Unfortunatly I live in England....where pool tournaments (9-ball) are almost non existant anybody out there know of any tournaments in the UK for amature/semi-pro players???

They certainly are not non existant.
We have 2 main tours in the UK, plus a great regional Tour based in Cambridge.

UK tournys
I know of the two main UK tours but there doesnt seem to be any tournys for the average player....only UK 8 ball comps on british tables. Thanks for the web site address for UK 9ball.

I think there used to be a place somewhere around London called the "Pool Shack" where there are "yankee pool tables".

Don't worry, there are plenty of average players on both tours (like me, right buckster? lol).
If you are looking to improve your game, there is no better place to go.
BTW ajrack: these days practically every snooker club in the UK has at least 4 american pool tables. 9 ball is getting bigger!
