i just got done seeing it and they played one good game of eight ball but too bad that karen corr lost but just wait untill allison fisher plays against them the men will shoot fast and shoot very hard on the table:)

Pro Pool For The Masses?

I thought it was done well and I think that non-pool players or bar players might enjoy it more, but it seems too broken up to appeal to me. I'll watch again, but there is no flow because someone different is shooting each next shot. Also, for some reasons the player interviews are uncomfortable.

Finally (and I hate to say this because I think I like the guy's personality) but what was with Johnny coaching the women? He had H.T. shoot a shot I know she wasn't comfortable with when there were many options to break balls out another way. Even a great player can miss a shot they are not comfortable with. BTW, this is not to say H.T. isn't good, because she is, but some people like to play shots differently. If he'd have let her shoot what she wanted, he'd have had a shot and they could have worked on the tied up ball.

I agree. He seemed to be doing a lot of coaching. I think both of those women are capable of determining what and how to shoot.
 
I haven't seen a pool TV show this lame since the old "Battle of the Sexes" with Suzanne Summers and Sammy Davis Jr.

Who is H.T.? Johnny was paired with Julie Kelly and Karen Corr in the episode I saw. I thought the conversations seemed fake, like they were almost scripted or something.
 
I think the show could be fun for the twice-a-year set. Much more so than the usual tourney coverage, at least. And I thought it was a kick seeing them loosen up, as well, considering they still got out pretty well.

But yeah, I also was wondering whether they told Johnny to play the part of the know-it-all guy coaching the clueless gals. Hope he didn't take that upon himself. I noticed Thorsten and Charlie didn't try that with Vivian ... but they're young enough to know better.:)

IMHO, Johnny was totally out of line.
He was referring to both Karen and Julie as "Babe", instead of using their names. He was also coaching both of them as if they were APA sl-2's.
I'm not one of the PC fanatics, but Johnny stepped way over the line and didn't show these ladies any respect at all.

You are correct, I was thinking Helena Thornfeldt. It was Julie.
