The latest ranking is up at www.umb.org. The latest list includes the just completed World Championship and the (corrected) Asian Championship.

Rank Player Previous rank

1 Caudron 1
2 Blomdahl 3
3 Kim Kyung-Roul 8
4 Merckx 12
5 Kasidokostas 6
6 Sanchez 4
7 Choi Sung-Won 7
8 Bury 5
9 Jaspers 2
10 Horn 10
11 Tasdemir 13
12 Coklu 14

The top 12 get automatic placement into the main tournament for all World Cups, so these spots are extremely coveted. The players who fell out of this select group are:

13 Cho Jae Ho 9
14 Zanetti 11

So they now need wildcard spots or they need to play in the qualifying rounds.

A few more big movers:

19 Sidhom 28
23 Takeshima 90
26 Palazon 17
39 Heo Jung Han 25

So Sidhom and Takeshima improved their wildcard chances while Palazon and Heo lost ground.

Eddy Merckx on the move (and very deserved, as well)!
Frederic Caudron = my biggest inspiration
The Belgiums are the powerhouses in this sport.
Gotta love it!

Because a World Cup, although a Major event, is not the World Championship. There are several World Cups throughout the year and one World Championship every year.
