Unfinished Cue Butts?

I'm looking to buy a cheap or unfinished cue butt that fits a uni-loc. I have a predator blak 1 that has already seen some fixable nicks, etc. I want to keep this cue in good condition so it keeps its value better. I'd rather not pay for an entire new cue as I like my Z2 shaft and really have no use for 2 shafts.

I want a cheap butt (is it ever possible to use this term without possible jokes following?? lol) that can take abuse and I don't have to worry about it.
I may even pull an Earl and put a tennis grip on it, lol.

Any suggestions?

why not just buy a Lucasi # L2000SP (sneaky pete)? they can be bought, new, for about $150. used ones can be had for less on eBay.

It might be more cost effective to use and abuse the Blak 1 cue and then get it refinished when re-selling.

do you know, approximately, what the cost of refinishing the butt of one of these cues costs?
 
i want the cue to be in mint condition, so having it redone by anyone other than predator is not an option... which means it will be expensive.

I bought a cheap lucasi on ebay for 120 shipped today, so problem solved.
