Uni Loc size

Does anyone know if there is more than one size of uniloc pin? I purchased an insert for a shaft from Atlas, and just being diligent I tried it on the butt pin before I was about to set it in the shaft and it wouldn't fit over the pin. It did however, fit over another uniloc pin in comparing the pins side by side you could clearly see one pin was bigger. Oddly enough though the threads seem to be the same size as the same joint protector fits on both. Can I drill out the insert to a tiny bit larger size so it fits? Anyone else have this experience? Solution? anyone? Thanks

Why not just slightly turn the pin down to fit in the insert, especially if the threads are the same ??? You could probably not even have to turn it, it may can be done with just some sandpaper, hard to say without seeing the difference.

I had a very reputable cue maker GIVE me, FREE of charge (so I am unsure of the original origin), a uni-loc pin and insert and when I got it, although the pin would fit in the insert, it was very tight and was hard to get the pin in the insert and when it was inserted, it was hard to remove. I just took some sandpaper and sanded the pin down very slightly until the pin slid into and out of the insert with ease.

Good idea, thanks

I could be wrong but I believe the insert you actually want is for the new bullet style. I wouldn't drill it or sand it, I would buy the correct insert.

There is also another one called the ghost.

The two newer styles are useless, jmo. The first and original is not broke.

The bullet is a stubby pointy kinda shaped like a bullet, and the ghost is sort of like a uniloc without the pin extension, if I'm correct. This joint I'm speaking of has a very short thread section that is unexposed (for the most part) and is maybe about a quarter inch long and about an inch (or a little more) phalis like extension. It looks just like the unilocs on the Atlas web site, just the extension is a little wider, I guess. I'm pretty sure it's not a bullet or a ghost, but apparently it's also not a uniloc - it just looks like one. I'm thinking a cheap Chinese knock off or possibly a strange Euro size, or I suppose it's possible they sent me an insert for the bullet joint instead of a uniloc.

pins

I ran across that also, I bought some joint protectors that were supposed to be Uni-Loc..Needless to say they weren't..They look the same, the odd barrel fits a Uni-loc pin, but the Uni-loc pins won't fit the odd barrel..I drilled the barrels..Someone told me they were Accu-Loc pins..I don't know if that's right, just what I was told...
