UniLoc "Bullet" joint ???

I have a customer which is playing with a "Poison" cue which seems to have a UniLoc Bullet joint. Is this usable with a normal UniLoc shaft or is the coned tip longer than the normal ULR joints?

Customer is away from me and I was just wondering if I could grab a Uniloc demo shaft with me and let him test it...

i believe the uniloc bullet is wider at the bottom of the pin and wont because of this. there are pics of them on predators website i believe.

I did have a look at both Pred and Poisons web pages and it looks shorter than the ULR. Well, I guess I'll bring a ULR shaft so we can try.
The worst which could happen is that it don't fit's I guess... :)

The Bullet pin & the Uni will not interchange.
They may have similarities in appearance but dimensionally, they are different.

If you ever remove one, you're in for the shock of your life.
The pin sits in a 5/16" deep hole......that's all.
It's set in phenolic but still......5/16"???

I have never been in contact with this version so I guess we are speaking about another proprietary joint like the McD we discussed earlier:thumbup:

Or do we see these coming as a new "stock" thread for us to consider stocking ? If not, I let the customer know that he's in Predator country only :)

Amendment :
I've made a mistake in my dimensions regarding the Bullet pin.
I have a Bullet pin at my shop and just after I made my post I told myself I'd better check just to be sure. I was going by memory and at 60 yrs. old that's not a good thing to do.

The threaded section that sits in the hole is .250" long (5/16x14).
However, there is a .500" long alignment barrel on top of that.
So the amount that sits in the phenolic is .750" total length.

I'll try to post a pic but just wanted to make this correction ASAP.

That's a fantastic picture KJ... !
It's for sure true "A picture tells more than a thousand words" .

This is for sure not a joint pin I would consider using on a cue, and as you
commented, the threaded part is VERY narrow. Hmmm.

Wow!

If these get dirty and lock up like the original UniLoc joints do, then I suspect that the pin will pull out instead of the insert!
