I been using standard pins on all my cues including jump breaks. However I just ordered a few uniloc pins and inserts from Atlas.

My question is what taps should I be expecting to use and any installation tips would be great.

Pin:
1/4" hole, tap 5/16-14. Bore out for locating barrel on pin and install.
Insert:
3/8" hole tap 7/16-20. Bore for locating barrel, install.

That's how I've done them. It's important to bore for those shoulders in order to utilize the self centering feature to Your best advantage. I've never had a centering issue while going in to a cue with them. I have had an insert pull out one time though on a break cue of mine, but that was a combination of Me making the pilot a hair too snug, and the bottom threads giving out while breaking. I re-installed the insert, and am breaking with that cue now, and it's holding just fine. If one ever starts making a clacking sound when hit with, then there's a possibility the insert is working loose.
