Saw your post and thought I'd give you my two cents worth.
To begin, I actually obtained one of the very first Unity Cues put out for sale. Mine is a highly figured maple with rings at five places (a,b,c,d,e....), standard 58" length with a 3/8 x 10 joint, and a 29" very meaty, (pretty stiff) shaft with a 13mm tip and a weight of approx 4 oz. The entire cue was right at or just under 19 oz.
My cue came with a LePro tip. I believe the newer ones now have Triangle tips. One of the primary features of the cue is that it is a plain jane with a fantastic clear coat finish. Although these cues have no inlays, they have the look of a much more expensive made cue (and probably should be!)
The hit of the cue, as I mentioned above is very stiff. If one is a Meucci fan, the hit is probably not for you. It is a very solid hitting cue. It sends no vibration when meeting the cue ball. All I can say is that it is a "natural feeling". The first time I hit with the cue, it was as if I had played with this cue forever. I align my shot and stroke. In all seriousness, this cue, particularly the shaft and LePro tip have greatly improved my accuracy in pocketing balls. To test this theory, I have taken this shaft and put it on several different butts in my collection. All showed the same positive results. I have read and been told by pros that the most important thing about a cue is the tip and the shaft. I'm a real believer now!
For the $320 that the cues are selling for now, I firmly believe these cues are one of, if not the best buy on the market today. They are a high quality cue that one can take anywhere, play your best game, and not be concerned about your high priced cue being damaged or stolen.
I've said about all I can say in response to your post. I've ordered another one for myself, and one for my wife. Give it a try. I believe you will own it for a long time if you do.
If you'd like to talk a little more, give me a pm, and I'll be glad to respond.
