Got my Unity cue last Friday. I purchased the 2nd cue in the third batch in this thread.

So lets start off with the aesthetics of the cue first. My cue was a bit darker than the pictures made it out to be. This was good for me because I like the dark look, also there was a lot more grain than the pictures showed so I can really say that the pics didn't really do the cue justice. The finish is flawless, and I looked hard at it. Like looking at glass. The wrap is well pressed and not too slippery. I was a bit hesitant because I prefer wrapless cues, but it fells good. The joint matches up better than any custom cue I've owned with the exception of the Sugartree sneaky I use to have. So I am giving the cue a 9 on fit and finish.

On to the more subjective stuff. I can't break with this cue to save my life, but I can move whitey around like I'm not even trying. I don't know what it is about this cue but when I shoot it just does what I want it to do. I heard someone describe these cues as stiff hitting, I am not completely in agreement on that matter. To the the cue is firm, but I don't really find to be stiff. The combination of the Juma Ferrule and the triangle tip gives me loads of action, probably more than I can control all the time, but I was unstoppable both nights that I have had a chance to shoot since I got the cue.

The folks at Unity were very easy to deal with and very prompt with shipment and correspondence. The purchase was as easy as they get. The cue plays lights out for me, and I wouldn't hesitate to buy another one if I had some extra cash laying about, I would love to get a purple heart Unity. Hats off to the Unity guys for putting a really great product out the consumer at a price that won't break the bank.

Keller.

RODCAR! Now that you've had your UNITY for a couple of weeks, give us a rundown on your cue, quality, playability, hit......I've got mine, I know what I've got. Love to hear what others have to say, good or bad! Haven't heard ONE negative word about these cues!

Here is my initial review posted in the other forum as well..

Here is an update for all of those interested in a review of a Unity cue..

I ordered a purpleheart Unity cue, cork wrap, special taper, 1/2" ferrule and I sent them my Onyx tip that I wanted installed..

Received the cue and have practiced with it for several days now and am personally blown away.. Just as a tidbit of info, I've shot with nearly every cuemaker out there from Lucasi to Southwest, Hercek, Madded, Haley, etc.. etc.. Have never played with the old school cues like Szamboti or Bushka but nearly everything else.

I'd rate the playability of my Unity as a very good fit for me.. I've been playing with a Madden with a special tapered shaft for several years and had no issues switching to the Unity.. It plays jam up as far as I am concerned.

I also ordered a 10" extension that screws into the butt of the cue, which is very nice. The only down side is I have to remove the rubber bumper to insert the extension, which is very inconvenient. I did not specify so it's probably my fault as much as anyone's. The best part about this is I gave them feedback and they agreed to make a new extension that will fit into the bumper. How's that for customer service. Top notch.

I feel that I got a ton of cue for the money. Don't care who made the cue, the cue was made by a professional, that is for sure. The rings are very nice, the shaft is tapered perfectly for me and the cue rolls perfectly straight.

I received a quality cue at a steal of a price, I'm happy. Nuf said!

They will get referrals from me and more business in the future. Great job Unity and thanks a bunch.
