How do you know that? Universal Billiards in Dallas/Ft Worth have been in business for 27 years, and I am sure that probably subcontract all of their products out.
Yes, the companies are one and the same. I fact, it is a subsidiary of lucasi cues. Thorsten Hohmann is their player rep. He just recently got the black and white case and loves it.
that I have done business with before in Toledo. He carries Universal cues on his site. He has new stuff going on his site, but it is in test mode right now.
He has 2 cases almost identical to the Universal case except a different logo, and they are white, blue, and some black. He said he is sure the same company is probably making the new cases under the Universal name and logo.
I emailed him pictures of the case above, and he compared it to the cases he has. He is getting with his representative tomorrow about the black and white Universal case.
This is what I know...
I know a few of the guys who work for Cue&Case and they tell me the
"Universal" cue line was made for them. From what I'M TOLD the new Universal line has nothing or little to do with the other Universal Billiards.
I know this has nothing to do with the case but I thought I post it anyway?
I may be talking out of my Arse here because I have been told incorrect info in the past.
The Universal with the cues and the Universal with the cases are the same company in China. Look at the logos. These products are popular in China and sold many places here.
I looked at the website for the company in Texas. Saw no cues or cases and no common logo so suspect it is not the same company.
I think the cues are made in the same factory in Dong Guan as Lucasi, but am not sure.
The cases are made in China. They are made by the same factory that makes most of the production cue cases on the market. This one pictured is made to emulate a golf bag.
The interior is a hard plastic shell with a cloth lining - like a George case.
Universal Billiard Products is a spin-off or extension of the Universal Smart Shaft brand.
You need to read post #9. I haven't checked, but don't know if these cases are even on his website or not. He is getting with his rep today about the new Universal case.
Here is a reply I got back from Mike about the Universal case:
As it is not on the website, I would recommend emailing him or calling the toll free number to order if desired.
