ebony forearm and butt with what looks to be 4 point ivory (or some kind of bone or other material) and 2 ivory rings at butt end, the pin is 5/16x14 piloted, any ideas

here is a picture up under the bumper
this is a picture of the pin (im not good at taking photos as you can tell) the pin is 5/16x14 piloted. ebony over the pin and than the ivory or whatever it is still not sure slipped over top, hope this makes sense.

no one has a guess?????? im thinking a production cue like schon or falcon these both have same thread, has anyone seen either that look like this? took this cue in a trade and am not sure who built the cue.

I'm about a 100% sure its not a Schon. Wrong joint..they made some joints similar but it would be marked..Schon

Ok will show pictures, and as for the schon the butt cap looks like it has been replaced and even if it was re finished the schon could have came off and i could be wrong butt im pretty sure schon has made this joint 5/16x14 piloted.

Yes 5/16-14 pin but the white joint is very uncommon but not unheard of, is it ivory?

ohh ic what you mean sorry i was confused, and i was told it is ivory but is there a way i can tell? under the butt cap is a spot for weight bolt but isnt one in there.

The way I would check is to take a pin and heat it up red hot and touch it inside where the shaft pilot goes and if it smells like burnt plastic it is not ivory but if it smells like burnt hair it is bone, antler or ivory. You might want to ask a cuemaker how to tell before you try this though Im not sure what they would think of this test. I dont know of any other way to tell for sure. in the butt where the weight bolt goes does it look like a pie, does the bumper screw in or just push in.I'm still doubtful its a Schon but they did make some with implex and ivory joints

yea you are pobably right about it not being a schon i was just throwing it out there cause schon and falcon were the ones i thought of with this pin. here is a picture under the bumper not sure if this will help but...

You can verify ivory by looking at it underneath a long-wave ultraviolet light, that is what customs agents do.

so i talked to a guy i play pool with and he said the joint is ivory. can anyone ID this cue?

Elfron looks exactly like ivory.

Show a picture of the pin going into the joint almost like a bullseye. Then PM me and remind me to look.
Nick :)
