Unknown Cue - snooker - SMR (initials)

Any help here re this cue/cue maker? Bought this when I was cruising CA and NV, and curiosity got me wondering . . .

Pics of cue and etching found when bumper is removed -

found "SMR" - "'05" etched in the butt beneath bumper.
