Unkown species of Rosewood - Heavier than ebony

I've got two pieces of wood that I can't identify, but are very interesting.

Almost solid brown. Very slight figure and extremely heavy.

The last 2 pictures show a piece I used in a cue.

Asking $50 for both

I was thinking Brazilian as well. It usually turns yellow when you cut it then changes back to dark brown. Heavy and hard!

Almost looks like Katalox. Very heavy wood, oily, not much figure, and almost all brown.
