thxs Mr huff just got in and saw this thread. Ill give ya a call. Btw maybe when i wrote this qustion i just had a bad beat or something hehe, But im not a pain in the ass person. But if im going to lay out 1500+ BIG IF, it's going to be a CUSTOM cue. Im starting to think im right in one respect, Alot of part pushers making cues now. At the very least if your going to put parts together then thats fine, But dont call yourself a Custom cue maker, and try to sell me a cue if you cant make it custom. pain in the ass? NO, But i do want it burger king for the dough.
"have it your way" Thanks all of you that had something to add worth reading.

The shaft wood has little to do with getting the noise you want in the hit. It is the construction of the cue. Contact Jimmy Reeves and tell him what you want the cue to sound like. He intentionally makes his that way. Those who love it really love it and those who don't really don't. I refuse to make my cues play and sound like that. Jimmy should be able to make what you want in a affordable price range.
Good luck with your new cue.

I think that's summed up pretty well - no cuemaker in his right mind would/should sacrifice the hit/playing quality of his cue and risk his reputation just so someone can have a "clicky" sounding hit - most work to avoid that sound these days and are more interested in performance and reducing throw and vibration.

just another opinion !

Bazz,
I am sorry, but I have to disagree. IMO, reducing throw, is equivalent to, reducing playability. I am not even sure, that if you do, reduce squirt, that throw, could be a variable. To me, throw is a powerful tool in getting proper shape. Of course, we may agree, totally, but have different, terminology.
