Here's a question for the USBA top brass. This is weak point. I tried to register for the C tournament last year at Carom Cafe and I was told I needed to come there and play someone to verify that I was a C player. I can make the trip for a tournament if I know I will be playing, but I called CC and made sure the person I had to see would be there on the Sunday I planned, and I go and this person was not there. So I had to drive home, all a waste of time, and I never registered for the tournament. I can't do this again. This is the stupidest setup I've ever seen.
Any answer from the top?

C tournament @ Carom

If you dont mind me asking, who was the person you were to meet? Do you have an established Handicap? Have you played in other USBA tournaments? Are you in a League? Where do you usually play Billiards? If you are trying to Enter a tournament and nobody knows you, how can we expect that you are a C player? The intentions are to have a C tournament with legitimate C players. Everyones best interests are considered. There is another C tournament coming up at MGM billiards, also in Queens, NY. If i can help in anyway, please let me know.

I would suggest that in the future, you contact me directly. I have records of all the players that have participated in USBA Tournaments over the past 4 years. If you have NOT participated in any of these events, then I may know people that you also know, and may be able to verify your level of skill at the moment.

Relying on the local pool hall or a person from that pool hall may be OK, but I wouldn't risk it. Contact me. My info is at:
