The Joss Northeast 9-Ball Tour is at Cap's Cue Club in Syracuse, NY this weekend with 32 players competing for a $4,060 total prize fund.

They are down to the final eight players and Sunday’s matches starting at noon are;

On the Winners Side:
Gary Empey vs Hongsavady "Jockey" Vongxay
Dennis Hatch vs Dave Grau

On the One Loss Side:
Tom "Shorty" D'Alfonso vs Kirk Rutherford
Mike Zuglan vs Bruce Carroll

Also, the upcoming $25,000 added Turning Stone Classic VI 9-Ball Open is now full at 128 players.

Tournament action starts on Thursday, February 16th and continues thru Sunday the 19th at the beautiful Turning Stone Casino in Verona, NY.., spectator admission for this event is FREE.

Remember, the Turning Stone is a non-alcohol serving casino which means you only need to be 18 to play in the tournament or gamble on the casino floor and again, spectator admission is FREE.

and then Dave Grau over Gary Empey 9-5

Dave Grau was in the hot seat!

On the One Loss Side;

then:

Dennis Hatch over Mike Zuglan 9-4
Tom D'Alfonso over Hongsavady Vongxay 9-8

and then:

Dennis Hatch over Tom D'Alfonso 9-7

then:

Gary Empey over Dennis Hatch 9-5

So then it came down to Dave Grau and Gary Empey in the finals.

Dave Grau defeated Gary Empey 9-4 for the win!

Thanks for the update. Wow, that Gary Empey must have played pretty strong to knock down The Hatchet.

This match -- "Tom D'Alfonso over Hongsavady Vongxay 9-8" -- must have been a nail-biter. I remember Vongxay did well at Turning Stone last year, beating Niels Feijen and a couple of other top guns. Shorty is going to be a tough one to beat next week.

Thanks for the update Dana, and congrats to Dave! He must've played well to beat all of those strong players. He is a pretty cool guy, and definitely deserves some credit!

Hongsavady Vongxay jumped out to a 4-0 lead over Tom D'Alfonso but D'Alfonso came back and won the match.., Also, I was sad to hear that Vongxay will not be competing in next week's Turning Stone event because he did not get his entry in on time.., he was fun to watch at the last Turning Stone event and had much of his family and friends there rooting him on.
