Wow, look at Karen Corr go! :) Mike Zuglan and Allen Hopkins are heavy-hitters! Didn't she win the last Joss Tour event?

Lapena shoots through Comets field

Al wins it- I have no other info on the finals.
Al Lapena cruised through a field of 37 players at Comet Billiards in Parsippany, NJ to win the Joss NE 9-Ball Tour event.

Lapena took the hot-seat with a 9-5 win over New York's Jonathan Smith. Meanwhile, Karen Corr was rolling over Allen Hopkins on the one loss side. Corr held a 6-0 lead and went on to win the match 9-2.

Smith went to the one loss side where Corr was waiting. Smith had sent Corr to the one loss side on Saturday, but she got her revenge with a 9-5 win over him on Sunday.

The win over Smith may have taken more out of Corr than she thought, as she was a noticably different player in the finals against Lapena. Corr was visibly tired and couldn't seem to get going as Lapena strolled to an easy 9-2 win.

Lapena won $1360 for first, while Corr took home $1000 for second. Smith and Hopkins filled out the top four spots.

The Joss NE 9-Ball Tour will be at Hippo's House of Billiards in Yorkville, NY next weekend for their next event. Tour director Mike Zuglan wanted to remind all of the fans that the upcoming Turning Stone Classic VI 9-Ball Open on February 16th - 19th at Turning Stone Casino in Verona, NY takes place a non-alcoholic casino. This means that fans only need to be 18 to gamble and play in the casino.
