Update: Joss Event at Snookers Pool Lounge

The Joss Northeast 9-Ball Tour is at Snookers Pool Lounge in Providence, RI this weekend with 60 players competing for a $6,800 total prize fund.

Some notable players in the field include Karen Corr, Marc Vidal, Liz Ford, Rob Pole, Tom McGonagle, Dave Fernandez, Ray McNamara, Joe Tucker, Bucky Souvanthong, Randy Labonte, Jason Michas, Chris Uhlman, Bob Madenjian, Ivaylo Petrov and Mike Zuglan.

They were down to the final eight players and Sunday's matches starting at noon were;

On the Winners Side:
Ivaylo Petrov over Bob Madenjian 9-5
Karen Corr over Randy Labonte 9-5

On the One Loss Side:
Bucky Souvanthong over Tom McGonagle 9-7
Ray McNamara over Dave Fernandez 9-8

Match-ups scheduled for 3:00 pm include;

On the Winners Side:
Karen Corr vs Ivaylo Petrov

On the One Loss Side:
Bucky Souvanthong vs Randy Labonte
Ray McNamara vs Bob Madenjian

Also, Mike Zuglan is already taking entries for the Turning Stone Classic 9-Ball Open XI event scheduled for August 14-17, 2008 at the beautiful Turning Stone Casino in Verona, NY.

This $25,000 added event will surely fill fast and is limited to the first 128 paid entries. It requires a pre-entry and you MUST contact Mike Zuglan to enter!

Remember, the previous ten Turning Stone events were filled to capacity with many players being shut out, so enter early!

All ages are welcome in the Event Center at Turning Stone and spectator admission is FREE.

Had a great weekend there myself. Was great to warm up with Bucky and Karen b4 the event. ummm they placed, and i tied for last. i musta made a good punching bag :)
 
I actually played above my head warming up with those 2. just couldnt keep it up for the tourney..... as for distracting nah !!! She was an absolute pleasure to meet and chat with. I was actually a little surprised. She introduced herself to me. Like she actually had to tell me who she was. hehehe.

She does strike me as a genuinely modest person.
 
Glad I missed it!

Actually after reading this post, I'm glad my MS-3 original City of Lights cue did NOT sell, and
that I didn't (couldn't) go to the tournament.

I would have certainly donated money that I could NOT afford to donate!

Randy Labonte practically smoked me when I played him last, and although he was on the
one loss side, I consider him strong, and "it" a waste of my money to engage with players
ABOVE his capabilities!

It was nice to see Jason Michas mentioned, as I bought his old Meucci O-1 (butt) a few
years ago, and he's a very nice person.

Sounds like a great time. I can't wait to donate next time around.
