I posted last week about a cue I bought sight unseen.. Described as curly maple and cocobolo.. The cue got to my door last night and I was a little worried about the feel and overall look.. So I took the bumper off, removed the bolt(which was aluminum) and the butt cap came right off.. The following pictures are of the teardown and I was wondering if the cocobolo is some sort of cored resin material and not wood? I am a newbie regarding cues other than run of the mill production cues, but it just doesnt seem right to me.. Maybe I am wrong, but seems far from a custom cue.. Opionions on wether I got taken or not, or if this looks right to anyone, like always, are much appreciated fellas..
