looks like its gonna be archer in the hotseat. and davis vs hohman for the loser bracket finals.

i think its gonna be hohman vs archer. archer will come out on top i believe.

another strong perfomance already by hohmann.......he's definitely making his mark this year.

Yeah, agree and think Archer will take it in the final. Should be a great match though.
I know Hohman has a great straight pool game, anyone know his high run or how Archer fairs at straight pool? Who would be your pick if it was straight pool being played in the final with Archer vs. Hohmann?

i know archer is very proficient at 14:1, but i would definitely pick hohmann at the present time because of his recent perfomances in straight pool tourneys.

Not saying its going to be Archer and Hohmann in the final though, I know Davis still has a shot. Davis has a great game and a very unique stroke. Love to watch him play.

Hohmann's high run is 404.

I wonder if it will be Archer v. Hohmann again, a rerun of BCA finals, except a real race to 11 this time!

Archer does have a stroke that is well suited for the game of 14.1. Nice short and compact. I could just imagine how great Johnny would play if he could devote more of his time to straight pool and straight pool was a popular as nine ball these days and there were more straight pool tourneys and higher paying straight pool tourneys.

Thanks a bunch. Lots of fun her in jax and I am having fun doing ball by ball updates now!!

Well, we're sweating 'em right here in D.C. Thanks, Shane, for providing the play-by-play updates.

Looks like Thorsten and Mike Davis are battling it out, with Johnny Archer waiting in the wings!

Agreed. I've heard Archer's high run is 200-unfinished. Apparently he wasn't interested in making a very high run...

Anyway, the platinumbilliards -site is great ! I've been following the match reports for a couple of hours... should go to sleep, but just have to keep on watching... :)

Nice Job Mike Davis! Sounds like a great Match! 2-9 combo for the Win. Hope the Archer vs. Davis match is as exciting, can't wait!

That was really cool following it on the Platinum Billiards website! Man, I wish all events had this type of coverage. It keeps those of us at home connected.

Now it's down to Johnny Archer and Mike Davis in the finals.

What's the prize fund, Shane? How much does first, second, and third place pay?

By the sounds of it, you all are having a blast! Keep those wonderful updates coming! Very much appreciated! ;)

Hi Shane, I am Doug Carter inventor of the Stroketrainer. I use to travel to a lot of these tournaments and know all of the players well. I traveled with Dave Hodges who has the Quick-clean table cleaner. We cleaned all the tables for the players. I have watched all of the players for a long time and i have to say Mike Davis has came a long way and has a very good chance to win this tournament. I dont get on the net much anymore because of all the BS that goes on in some of the news groups but i would like to thank you for doing such a fine job on this. I am watching it now and also would like to comend you on such a nice site. Are you going to be doing this all the time? If so i am looking foward to seeing more of it. Anyway maybe i will meet soon at a tournament someday until then keep up the good work. Thanks again

You saved money, VAP! The score currently is 7 to 7, and they took a break. :p

However, the horse you picked from the get is still in the running!

Since this is the finals in a double-elimination tournament, is the finals match going to be a race to 10 like the others, or will there be an extended race?

Hoping Shane reads this and can respond during the break!

Thrillings finals!

Thanks, Shane! :)

I'm loving the commentaries, i.e., "Archer thinking."

I can just feel the tension in that Jacksonville air. Mike must be putting the pressure on Johnny, 8 to 7 and still going strong, but at the time of this writing, the big "W" is still up for grabs! In essence, the two of them are playing for $5,000, the difference between first and second place!
