Upgrade to 9' Diamond?

Can you notice the shelf depth and cut difference?

My shelf is just slightly shorter, if GC's didnt have the pockets with the large radius Im guessing they would be very, very close. For some reason before I had my rails modified you could miss a ball that sat in the jaws going rail first.

Nice.

Is that the table in your avatar?

Sure would like to see more pics. If available, could you post a link so we don't highjack the OP?

Thanks.

Just make sure the Diamond you buy is NOT an old red label table. I had little experience on a Diamond when I moved down here a few years ago to SW Florida. The only decent room down here hs Diamonds and when I WENT THERE I hated the tables - pocket rejections and short banks and generally strange.

I since discovered that those tables were old red labels completely different than the newer blue label Diamonds- so go with a blue label- I would not trust a table top conversion. Also would not trust most table mechanics to convert a Brunswick GC to play like a Diamond- maybe some mechanics but not most.
I wound up not getting the one I was originally posting about but now am getting an old red label pro that Diamond a blue label conversion on in early 2019. Since Diamond did it you still think it's bad?

My personal table is a red label diamond and I like it fine. Blue label too for that matter. I was close to having the blue label upgrade myself, but honestly after playing on a blue level and other tables I discovered that a player must adapt to playing conditions, so the money on the supposed upgrade wasn't worth it to me in the end.

All that said, if a blue label us available , then get that one, can't hurt.

And absolutely get the best installer you can find to set up whatever you get. For what it's worth, I had my table set up again three weeks ago and he told me diamonds are the easiest table to set up. Promise I tracked down the best installer in my tristate area and that was money well spent.

Good luck

It is all a matter of personal preference. I would say try Diamond Blue, Red, Gold Crown- see what you like best and put that one in your home. After that first choice; it is all about the installer, as long as YOU know what You want and communicate it to an excellent installer.
