I have a new JB Case coming today and I was very happy and surprised to see that you can now track your delivery in real time on a live map with UPS.

The map shows a house icon on the map where you live, and a truck icon for where the UPS truck currently is. Very cool feature. So now instead of being held prisoner not wanting to work in the yard or in the basement for fear of missing a delivery with signature, you can check out the map and see where the truck is.

EDIT: Okay, so I'm not sure yet whether the actual GPS location of the truck is shown -- for security reasons -- but the page includes these 3 destinations: On The Road -- In Your Area -- Almost There

EDIT2: Yeah, the truck is "moving" around on the map....not sure how accurate it's location is though....

So now you can watch BigBrown lose/mangle/destroy your s^*t as it happens? Sounds like fun. ;)

And then they take a picture of your package delivered on your front door and send it to you.

Really? That would be cool too. But I do have many security cameras, which I have had to use on occasion.

Once the USPS said they tried to deliver, but I checked the camera and they stopped, but never got out.

Then a water delivery. They said I didn't return 4 empty bottles -- they changed their story quick when I told them I have it on cam.

Sounds good.

What they really need is a picture of the sorry pieces of shit that ride around grabbing packages off peoples porches after UPS/FedEx drop something off.

Did you know that you can also track your mail with USPS?

It takes one full day after registering to work.

After you regsiter your ZIP code to find out if it is available in your neighborhood, then you add your postal address.

I receive an email every morning with a photo of each letter that I will receive from the postman later in the day.

It's pretty cool!

We have used USPS, UPS & FedEx tracking for quite some time now. Although pretty cool - it isn't really real time and depends on driver input along with GPS tracking. How good that input is affects the accuracy of the info you get about your package. It does help to send the tracking info to the person you are sending the package to; so they can do a better job watching out for it. To me, tossing a package on my front porch or in front of my garage door isn't the best delivery. A person's name is on the package for a reason!
