I haven't seen any threads open discussing whats going on in the 10 ball which is kinda surprising. Its such a strong field and would have loved to be there and watched these guys play.
The A-side quarters just started and I must say I'm so happy to see Wu still there. I'm really hoping that he takes this tournament down. Biado continues his good form but is in a tough match with Ko Pin Yi while Rodney should come through Dennis Grabe who's been a surprise package in a pretty strong field. There's a few world champions on the b side fighting with Boyes, Immonen, Bustamante, Hohmann, Appleton and Orcollo coming back tomorrow (or playing later today I'm not sure) with just one more life. Oh and there's this pretty unknown guy on this forum known as Shane Van Boening on the b-side as well ;)

I agree with you, it is an amazing field. How did they get Wu here? Biado is on the winner's side. The loser's side is loaded. It really is a fantastic tournament.
 
I don't how Wu got here but he's looking strong 4-0 up against Dang. Biados not looking very good though he's down 4-0 already vs Ko Pin Yi. Is this winner break? I have no idea how Dechaine's already down 7-0 to Corteza lol

Amazingly out of only 4 winner side matches left there was 2 9 zip matches. Hard to believe especially in 10 ball which is not as predictable in the layout with the pattern racking many of them do as 9 ball is.
 
I'm looking forward to hearing from someone what happened in those games. I expected the games that ended 9-0 to be a lot closer as compared to the other 2 games.
 
Rodney books himself a spot in the semis with a good win. Still in shock about the 2 9 zips
 
Ko Pin Yi has the best break in 10 ball. Although 9-0 seems a bit ridiculous, but Ko can string multiple racks together at any time.
 
I'm pretty sure Corteza and Ko must have at least run a 5 or 6 pack. I've never seen the AZ live updates get updated so fast :P

I heard that Ko ran a 7 pack or something close to that. Played safe and Carlo messed up and ran the set out.
 
Immense talent that kid. Has one of the best 10 ball breaks as he showcased in his match vs SVB a little while back. Kinda annoyed that I can't find that match on youtube now :S

I think the uploader's account got removed because of copyright issues. That was a good match and one of the biggest achievements for Ko. He's still young though, but has been playing professionally for quite awhile already.
 
Who is Rodney playing next? I can't see the full bracket on my phone for some reason. Are they gonna play the semis tonight?
 
I think it was Darren Appleton who posted last year about Ko being the man to beat at the World 9 Ball. It was Daz himself to sent him to the B-side and I think he ended up finishing 5th. Wouldn't be surprised if he does a little better come september.
