Just wanted to give everybody a heads-up - the 2007 US Artistic Pool Open is this weekend in Southington, CT at Shooter's. If you're in the area, you should come check it out. Twenty-five of the best artistic poolplayers will duke it out, shooting some of the most amazing shots ever. Artistic Pool is a genre, a niche, and an ever-growing-in-popularity facet of the sport. As pool fans, show your support!

Sal Conti, owner of Shooters Billiards, and Bruce Barthelette, owner of the Connecticut APA, will guarantee $5000 added to the event. Information on additional sponsors is not available at this time. This event will be a ranking event.
Up to 4 tables will be used for this event. The tables may be gridded. This has not been decided yet.
The format for this event will be the standard format used in the past. A round of 40 shots will start the event. The top 12 players will advance to a single elimination playoff round, with the top 4 getting byes. Each match will be the standard 10 shots each.
The entry fee must be paid in cash immediately prior to the players meeting. The prize money committee will be available from 8:30 - 9:00pm in the tournament room to collect entry fees. The flight draw will be done at the start of the players meeting. Anyone not signed up and paid by the start of the players meeting on Thursday May 3 will not play in the tournament. The field is limited to the first 36 players to send their 'intent to enter' to aptsa@artisticpoolplayers.com
The World Record attempts will be held immediately prior to the players meeting at 8pm. Time permitting, additional attempts will be held after the meeting.
There will be a clinic / qualifier held for this event on Sunday, April 29 at Shooters Billiards. The clinic will start at 11am and the players will learn from some of the top players in the sport. Immediately following the clinic, there will be a qualifier, where the players will shoot the first 4 shots in each discipline (skipping the masse discipline). The entry fee will be $50 and all of the money will go towards the winner's entry fee into the US Open. Click here for more details.
