US Open boycott

Let's just think here for a minute, instead of everybody on here arguing about this whole situation, I say, let the boycot happen. More amateurs can join and have a better chance of winning, then, if the pay outs really are there, everybody involved in the boycot can puke up their pride next year realizing the money they possibly lost out on and can come groveling back with their tails between their legs. From the sounds of it only a few people actually know the real story on payouts and they arent talking. If more people join who perhaps wouldnt have in previous years because of competition its still going to bring a tournament in. IF they dont get paid, they are still going to be tickled they made the money in the US Open and probably wouldnt have much of a problem waiting a little while to get it. Then, if that were to happy the pros involved in the boycot can say I TOLD YOU SO. If they dont come to some kind of understanding and this boycot really happens, there will only be one person coming out on top of this little quarrel. So my thoughts....Let's get more amateurs there and let the pros wait it out and find out if they were right or if they made a possible 50,000 mistake.

I say the same thing, they have staked out their ground and they have to stick with it. As they say
"Don't take a hostage if you not willing to kill them".
Bluffing doesn't work. I don't see Barry going any farther then he has already said. It is up to them now so the he!! with them.

And it's been stated here elsewhere that the only REAL profitable tournaments are the amateur ones anyway.

Lets the pros suck their thumb. :groucho:

Bring on the women professionals

I would love to see quite a few women professionals play in this years open....they play great pool and look a hell of a lot better than those listed ABP players, plus they have a crowd draw thats as good as the men. I see more womens tournament matches on ESPN than the guys anyway. Go after them Barry and have a great US Open for the fans.
