US OPEN ONE POCKECT - The three wise men (Billy, Scott & Corey)

God I forgot how good these three could be commentating one pocket. These guys are the Three Tenors of Pool.

Billy "Don't be mad at your money...only a fool shoots that" I
Scott "Full-Tilt Offense" Frost
Corey "I see and can execute the most obscure shots on the Planet" Deuel

The three together are like the LA Laker's of the 80's....Showtime. Though I would love to see Corey or Scott snap one of these off I'm almost happy they got knocked out so they can hit the booth. The ultimate was when Corey was describing this cool reverse kick in the last game. Billy is arguing that he should just make Darren A's ball and come three rails around for a safety. Corey see's this reverse kick safe. Scott is torn between both. SVB shoots a variation of Billy's shot (without making Darren's ball) and Darren puts ball back and leaves SVB even worse off. Corey is now insisting his crazy shot is the only way out. I figure no way SVB is doing this. Low and behold after much study shoots the reverse kick while Billy is about to spit on him. Bing-Bang-Boom. Ball kicked away. Cue ball slides up and behind stack of balls and Darren is left shooting a crazy off angle combo.

Darren nails the tough shot. Tries a simple bank which checks up on him and SVB closes the deal. The win with the Three Wise Men in the background made staying up and being late for work all worth it.

Thank you TAR for the great coverage. Maybe you should make these guys the "House Band" for TAR matches they are not involved in.

agree

It was interesting in listening to those three, plus listening to Billy's interview at the end. Funny, one of our local know it alls wants to play Darren and Shane, he says they don't know the game. I wish I knew their game.

On the other side of the coin the announcers for the Stevie Moore/Mikka match were horrible in my opinion. They sounded like they have never played pool.

TAR Comentators

Yes, these guy's are great together.
They see three different styles of play.
They have no problems telling you if your wrong, and will agree if they get a good explanation.
I think they would be a asset to TAR.

I didn't watch this year's finals, but I watched last year's finals (Gentile vs. Reyes) and those guys certainly were a pleasure to listen to- Deuel in particular was quite funny

I watched this match. The commentary was terrific. Corey Deuel is super aggressive with his ridiculous shot making and equally aggressive when calling the games too.

Corey made a very telling comment at the end of the evening. I learned tonight from these guys I need to Knit my game up a notch and I could be in the finals playing one of them. I think that even Corey knows he needs a little more steak and less sizzle.
