Does anyone know where some are going to be held, i know that you dont have to qualify for it. thanks

I remember last year, they had a list of the official qualifiers on the website, but I just went to it and couldn't find it for this year. I dunno. Hmm...

As far as what I know from two years ago, you don't need to qualify. It's a true 'open' tournament, and all you have to do is enter. They may have a limit as far as number of entries, but at the time when I checked into it, all it takes is paying the entry fee and your in the main tournament. I personally found it to be pretty expensive to have to come up with air fare from Japan, as well as hotel/meals, plus the entry fee only to end up facing somebody like Pagulayan in the first round!! Course, had I lost to him, I would have hit up Reyes for a money match to make my money back so that I could at least break even.....................................but my wife thought it was too risky so I decided against going altogether.

Let me guess...you want people to donate so you can play in one.

Ha ha ha ha I am kidding. Just kidding and having fun so no one jump on my ass.:D

I played in one last year at J.O.B's in Nashville. I was expecting a tough field but only 12 guys showed up. They are more like $500 guaranteed money tournaments from my experience. There should be some info coming soon. They are tough if you have to travel because if you want to take advantage of the free entry you are already out any expenses. I would recommend trying to find one as close as possible. You may want to ask your local room if they would like to "Host a Qualifier" see example from Open website:

Mock Example Qualifier Event:
Open to 32 Players
Example A : Open to 32 Players
Entry Fee $25.00
Total Purse $800.00

Example Breakdown A: Entry to U.S.Open $500.00
$200.00
$100.00

Example Breakdown B: Entry to Open and $300.00 towards travel, etc.

Pro-tyme billiards held one last year, they are only about an hour and a half away from me.
