us open thru billiard club???

i am not to good with computers,but i recieved the e mail as i am sure alot of you have,to watch the open,live for 19.95 thru billiard club network.here is my question.is there a way to record or download to my pc,to burn or watch,the matches they televise?and if so,do i have to be watching at the time or is there a way to just leave p.c run thru the day ,while i am working and record it?help!!thanks

If its like last year you can watch a reply of any Tv match on demand. No need to record yourself. Watch the replays anytime.

will it be like i can go to the bcn website anytime and watch any match,like a member type thing?also will i be able to access those same matches,assuming i am understanding you,years down the road or are they save in a seperate section or google video.the bad part is ,like many others,i will be at work while most action is taking place.thanks.

I, too, saw where for $20 you could watch the US Open through the Billiard Club network. Thinks its pretty cool that they are doing it. They said that it would only be covering the matches in the TV table area, that matches and times would vary, but they would update the scheduled times as the tournament goes on, so you could plan ahead to watch the matches you wanted to see.

Unfortunately, they also state that there is no way to record or save the matches for later viewing. Think, from one statement they made, that they have an agreement with Accustats, which will also be videoing these matches for sale, not to broadcast them in a way where they can be recorded. Too bad for those of us who have to work for a living and can not be available during the day to watch.

Looks like I was wrong in assuming it was like last year. They state the following on their website faq.

Will I be able to watch an archive of a live match if I miss the broadcast?
This is a live internet broadcast only, therefore the matches will be available when they are played. Any future viewing opportunities for the match play will be separate from this pay-per-view offer. However, it is possible that live matches will be rebroadcast during the tournament week when another feature match is not in play.

More money, but less viewing opportunities. count me out.

Usually, they'll archive the videos so that you can watch them later, because a lot of people have the problem of being at work when the matches are on. I will say that I had a negative customer service experience with BCn when I was trying to get some answers for this year's Derby City Classic.

Initially, the way they described the videos, they said they would only be shown live and would not be archived. I thought that was peculiar since they archive US Open videos. I e-mailed them and was told that yes, indeed you could only watch them live, no archive. So I said well I'm not going to pay for something I can't watch, so I forgot about it. Later I go back to the website, and it says videos are on demand, and that it would only be for 2 more days, at which time I was a little flustered, but again, 2 days would not be enough for me to watch. I go back to the site a couple weeks later, and the videos are still up, but again they are claiming only for a few more days. Finally, I e-mailed them and asked what was going on, and I told them everything above. I never got a response. I would gladly have paid to watch the videos had I known they would be archived, but I never got a real answer.

Getting back on point, I think they will archive the videos for later viewing.

I did not realize until now that you had cut and pasted the bolded section from BCn's website. You're right, forget it then. Of course, I'm expecting them to archive them and make them available on demand without telling anyone, like they did to me with the Derby City Classic.
