US pool federation

Why doesn't the us have a pool federation that runs leagues, regional and national toruanemnts, funds youth development and assists top pros?

Why did the BCA which has the title of the us pool federation divest themselves from their league and become solely an equipment manufacturers trade group?

Why are all the leagues in the us just for profit businesses instead of a non profit run to the benefit of pool?

Just seems like most of the current problems are the result of for profit decisions made by those in positions of power in the industry, to their benefit.

I understand why the pros feel.forced to accept the situation, as there isn't outside money, but why do all the amateur players accept it?

Look at the board of directors for the BCA, it's almost entirely industry people, no reps from players pro or amateur, who should be calling the shots for us pool, not corporations.

you're asking three questions here not one. simple answer is this is the US, people do things to make money first and for the game second. just the way it is. the game is not big enough at lower levels to warrant a national amateur federation. btw, someone has to run the leagues, you expect someone to do it for free?

'zakly...
Who gonna pay fa dat?

No, league dues could pay for staff and a cut to pool hall, same as they do now, just the profits that currently end up with lo and whoever owns the various national organizations help fund youth development and pro support that's basically the entire point of a sports federation.
