USAM Amateur Tournament (APA)

Anyone else sign up for this? I’m a bit confused. Does anyone know more than what’s listed on their page? The preliminaries are ran in September this year and the actual tournament isn’t until next November. Will there be more qualifiers between September and the tournament? A year between qualifiers and the actual tournament seems like a long time to wait. It’s ran by APA but was open to any amateur wanting to play.

I'm pretty sure they normally have their prelims in September and the finals in November. You may want to contact them to see if their dates are correct.

I registered one year and played in Salem, OR, got to the finals and lost

A couple of people I know in Boise also played. I don't remember where they played their prelims but they both made it to FL. They didn't do so well in FL

Regarding waiting for an APA tournament, in the regular league you sometimes have to wait months. If your team qualifies in the first session of the year then you have to wait until the end of the year for the big tournament. It's how it operates.
