used cue websites

Are there any websites out there that have listing for used cues by retailers (other than AZB and eBay/Facebook)?

I've found a couple that are mostly high end cues and of course a ton with new cues, but not much out there for used in the under $1000 range.

I know it's time consuming, so I don't blame them for not doing it, but wish places who sold new cues and took cues on trade would list them online.

Anyway, let me know if there is anything out there. Thanks.

Several Azers operate websites that are respectively headquartered across the nation where they reside.
On these sites, a variety of cues get listed besides just $5k cues and such. It simply requires searching
their sites regularly. Classic Cues, Superior Cues, Recollection Cues, Cornerstone Cues, and there are so
many more. You just need to put in the effort to locate these sites and regularly patrol them afterward.

How about this? Scott, Joe, Bill, Martin, Mark K. Joe VB, and everyone else too......post your site identity
and think about incldg a couple of links to lower end cues under $1200......arbitrary amount. You get the
drift. Entice some folks that are ignorant about your existence or don’t know how to research pool cues.

There isn’t a huge markup on some cues unless the seller was amateurish. So the price range needs to be up to
a grand or more. I figure $100 per month as a savings goal & in 1 yr., it yields $1200 to get a cue. If you want to
search for cues in the $400 to $800 range, it is not worth a dealer’s time to carry cues so low which is ebay’s realm.

Some retailers have used cue sections on their web sites..

There isn't a lot of meat on the bone in the lower price range so that's why you don't see a lot of it from retailers. Where would they get them? Go out and buy up a bunch of used cues?

They are often returns. Hard to take partial trades in lower priced cues for retailers.

J&J usually has a few used cues under $1,000.

Pooldawg has "certified preowned" cues.

Other sites have "scratch n dent" cues for sale, or "clearance" pages. Again, often returns.

They are out there if you look around.

OK, thanks for the suggestions.

I live in a really rural area. The closest place to me that has much of anything is Doc's Cue and Darts in Blaine, MN. It's about a 3 hour drive. I stop in there when I can and he often has a pretty good selection of trades and sometimes NOS stuff that is all pretty reasonable pricing. Not long ago he ending up buying the inventory of a closing pool hall and had a bunch of late 80's viking cues that had never been chalked etc.. often has used Schon or Jacoby's that look like new for much less than retail. Stuff like that.

I don't understand why people are so anti--ebay. Ebay isn't a seller, it is a website to access thousands of different sellers.

I live in the under $1000 price range world, usually way under. 80% of the cues I own or once owned came from individual sellers, large retailers and even pawn shops...all via Ebay. In general left over NOS or clearance cues tend to be as good or better value than used if we are talking production cues.

What are you looking for specifically?

I'm not really looking for anything specific. I have a small collection of Gambler style cues. They are not really the "in thing" right now so the used market is where I them most.
I have some Jacoby's and a Woodworth with the dice and card suit inlays. Didn't pay more than $800 for any of them.
Mostly I just like to look and if I see something that catches my eye I'll buy it.

I'm not anti-eBay. I buy and sell on there all the time. The issue with eBay is the fees.
If a seller wants $850 for a cue they need to get close to $1000 on eBay to cover their fees and the PayPal fees.

Right, people are focused on technology right now. Fancy Inlays and decals still have a place though. RIght now, I'm into Sneaky Pete style cues with LD shafts from custom cuemakers. Some of those gambler cues are so cool, attention grabbers for sure. At least with eBay, you can make offers to offset those closing fees. Good luck dude.

I don't care what they get, I care what I pay. Many sellers just want to get something for items they have no use for. I just bought a new current production cue that lists fir $450. No retailer sells it for less than $350. A guy put one up for auction, new in the manufacturer's packaging auction style starting at $155 min bid. I jumped in before anyone bid, offered $180 and he took it. I have found far more realistic sellers on enay than most forums or small hobbyist sites.

I know the fees are high but sometimes as a seller it's still my best option. I can find that one guy 6 states away that wants what I have...where else can I do that?

I don't disagree. I'm just saying that if a business has a used cue they gave $300 for on trade, and they need $400 for it to make some money to keep the doors open, they need to get at least $450 for it on eBay to still make that $100 profit. That's not a good deal for the buyer and it takes 10% out of the hands of a business in the pool industry.
So if I can find that cue in their shop or on their website, I would prefer to do it that way.

As far as individual sellers, it's hard to beat the exposure you get on eBay
