does anybody know if the Diamond company sells used tables? I finally have enough space for a 7 foot pool table and would prefer a Diamond, but I don't want to spend the $ for a new one. Does anybody know if the Diamond company sells used ones? I ask specifically if the company does this because I have no way to transport one and I have no idea how to assemble one either.

I live in the LA area, so if not the Diamond company, does anybody know of a vendor in this area that sells used 7 foot Diamonds that can deliver and assemble them?

Call Diamond directly: 812-288-7665.

They do sell tournament used tables, when they are available, at a discounted rate.

Contact Mark Estes at CSI. Believe all the tables used at the 2014 BCAPL / USAPL events in July will be for sale after the event closes. Also contact Bad Boys Productions who supply the tables for the event. One of my friends purchased a small Diamond at Super Billiards last year from Ed Hagan, the East Coast Distributor.

I just finished a deal to get 4 at one location and assisted in getting 2 at another. The process is done through Diamond and they will set up the shipping and installation - a requirement if they are holding the note, of course.

That's about right. If the club has more than just your typical "bangers" and weekend warriors, you would be surprised at how quickly the cost can be covered by people that are there for the tables - plus, they really do brighten up a dingy room. I've set up the tables at the bar for 50c/rack and things have been doing pretty well. If I could, I'd go ahead and finance any other place I could find to do the same. Matter of fact, I may even start looking for places to get tables in for. That should tell you enough.

The table itself would not be anywhere near $5,000.

I don't event know the pricing anymore - call Diamond or others for that - but that price sounds like it includes shipping and setup and maybe even a light or other stuff (or was a 9' table price).

John,

You're lucky. The bar I play out of in Rochester has the ONLY Diamond Smart table in town, Every other bar has Valley's or Dynamo's. Only draw back is, they set the table for $1.50 per rack. Gets expensive quickly. Worth every penny though. Plays like a real pool table should!

you are correct about one thing. you do not know the prices any more.
Did call diamond.
Price is nearly $5000.00 for a tourney used bar box.
Shipped, no set up, but there is not much to set one up.

So, I'm in the final stages of preparing my garage for the 7 ft table (Donny, I'm planning on giving you a call soon to see what you have in stock)

2 questions for people that have a 7 footer

1. I did measurements and the width of my garage is about 12 feet. I read that it is ideal to have about 13 feet of width for a 7 footer. I am planning on buying a short cue (either 48 or 52 inches) for shots the end up on the end rail. Is 12 feet of width going to result in many cramped shots?

I want the table very badly and I am willing to use the short cue, I just hope I won't have to use it too much with those dimensions.

2. Is it best to place the table directly on the concrete or should I put a carpet down?

Does anybody have experience with a 7 foot table that has slightly under-sized/suitable playing space? Just want some feedback about how obnoxious this might be before fully committing to purchase.

I stared at and measured by basement 100's of time for 5+ years before i said hell with it and got a table. If i remember correctly i had little less than the 12 ft u mention and everything turned out fine. I can play 95% of shots with no issues. Only time shorty cue has to be out is if cue ball is on the long rails side n shooting directly across straighter shots which isnt a big deal as the tend to be shorter shots. Wish i woulda just taken the plunge way sooner. I mite be a better play by now if i had. Lol

If u want i could probably take those measurements for u n take some pics to see how my space turned out. Wish i had the diamond table u r getting tho

I've been contemplating buying a table for years. Attic is the only viable location. Discussed a possible install with Diamond. Actually built a full scale mock-up to check boundaries. Discovered the slate for a small diamond weighs 400#. Only ways to get the table in; taking apart the endwall of the house and using a crane or forklift or having them build me a "Pro" version of the table with multiple slates. Either way is financially painful. Be glad you have an attached garage with ample space!
