I'd go w the rubber circular shims directly between the slab and the table. Again, Donny is a great resource for this info.

I e-mailed Diamond about 8 months ago inquiring about the price of a new pro-am 8 footer. They replied with the price of $4400 + $800 for delivery and set-up in Chicago. I finally determined I could fit a 9 footer into an 18 and a half foot space; albeit, a bit cramped. I bought a mint condition Gold Crown and had it delivered for $2600. I paid $1400 to have it "Diamondized." I love it.
Point is though: If they quoted me $4400 for a new 8 footer 8 months ago, and now they're quoting $5000 for a tournament used 7 footer...something 's funny.
