Last night I decided on a whim to use my break cue (OB Break, 13mm) as my player. I'm not an experienced pool player (18 mos.) and I've only used medium-soft tips on my regular cue. I wanted to see how it felt to play with a hard tip...I figured a Samarsa break tip was a good test. 
You guessed it: I pocketed balls lights out. I'm sure it was the old "new always seems better...but will wear off" factor. But even when I tried shots with extreme english it performed exactly as it should. The sound was kind of odd but the "feel" was fine.
It got me thinking about buying an extra shaft for my regular cue (OB121 with OB-1 shaft). Maybe an OB Classic with either the standard Everest tip or other medium hard tip.
Any recommendations?
