Hi all,

ive been searching for some time now second hand tables, and these are the best i came up with. (none are with delivery and setup prices included)


New Dynamic profesional 9ft: +- 1900€
Used GC III 9ft (6years): 1200€ (they came from 1800 but need to be sold FAST, i need to break them apart myself)
Used Diamond The profesional 9ft: 1600€ (in germany, so i need to add a 700km drive to the costs, but the tables are boxed and ready to be picked up)

Wich one would u chose and why?
 
morning bump. i need to descide this weekend. im ive got a slight preference for the brunswick as the price is really good. but just wanted to check wiht you all, as diamonds are considerede to be probably one of the best tables, and 1800 for a diamond isnt big money either...
 
Tables

Preferences:
1) Diamond - for sure (but transportation costs might be too much)
2) Gold Crown III
3) Dynamic

If money is tight, go with the GC III. You might get them down a couple of hundred more if they need to sell fast.

yup the diamond would be cool, but its more expensive, and right now i wouldnt have the total amount of cash without being on the tin line of being broke. but i also think (and a friend of mine said i could knock it even more down) that a gcIII for 1k would be the best deal quality/price.

and no prob about the email :)

just my two cents-

I've played more than 1000 hours on GCIII's, and about half that on Diamonds. I wouldn't pay a nickel more for a Diamond, much less the significant premium you'd have to pay.

They certainly play differently, but I attribute that to the ways in which the pockets are cut. After a time, you get used to either.

I know Diamonds are quite popular on this forum, but I would definitely opt for the Brunswick, were I in your shoes.

i agree. they both are close to equal in quality, and a GC3 for 1k... hell if i dont like it, ill sell it for more then the double :D and use it to buy a gabriels pro signature. now THATS a fancy table :p
 
Go for the GCIII, the Diamond would be nice, but you'd be out alot more in shipping/travelling costs and I've played on the Dynamics and I'm not fussed on them :)

Yep, I vote for the Brunswick :), but I wish you the best of luck, reguardless of whichever table you go for :)

now i only have to pray that he guy is serious and the tables are still there. ive been waiting for 2days for news, and he was new on the forum with only 3 posts....

well the dynamics are the table they use for all the big tournaments in europe, and as i want a practice table that plays like the one where ill have to play my big tournaments on, id prefere a identical table. but im not on that level yet, im still in the beginning of my poolcareer.

thewizard have u ever played on gabriels? i absolutly LOVE the gabriels signature pro, but no idea how the play..
 
Hey buddy :)

It's kinda funny that you ask that, because last year, the pool room I play in, here in Ireland, have got 6x BCE Atlantics (GC4 copies) and the owners of the room, were looking to sell the BCE's to replace them with the Gabriel's Signature Pro's :), but I'm not sure if they are still looking to do that or not :)

I have seen the Gabriels tables and they are a sweet piece of equipment, and certainly a table that I would like to play on, just to see how good they play :)

If you get one of those tables at a good price, they would be worth going for :), in fact, I feel that the Euro tour would be better with Gabriel's tables, rather than Dynamic, as I played on the Dynamic tables and I don't rate them as highly as a SAM K-Steel, Brunswick or Diamond table, but they're still decent enough :)

Have you played on a Gabriels? :)

at first i would say no, but ive seen a poolhall puting one up for sale some days ago, and i have played on every table in that club, so i think i have !.

guess ill have to pay them a visit and check out the table.

still no news from the german guy for the GCIII...
 
If your lucky enough to find a pool place going out of buisness, then you can get a used table for dirt cheap. But these tables would prob. be worn. Look on ebay, Olhausen or Brunswick would be a safe bet. Good Luck!

BTW. I would get the Diamond, those are some nice tables. It will be expensive now but it will save you money in the long run, because you wont have go to the pool hall everyday.

8ball player, the diamond comes from one thats going out of business, but i live in belgium europe, we really dont have many clubs around, and a 9ft pooltable hardly ever comes in the 2hand market. I dont think many businesses here have tables of the quality of brunswick or diamond or gabriels... Ive got a bigger shot to find it in holland or germany. the diamond for 1600€ or 2000$ looks a good buy too. (small prob :) dont got that amount of cash yet :p not yet the end of the month)
 
It's a pitty that there aren't more pool halls in Belgium, especially since Aramith/Saluc is based there, as is Simonis as well, I think? :), but it's not too bad where you are Soljarte because belgiums right in the middle between Germany and Holland, (I was in Holland many years, ago on vacation) and so, location wise you kinda have a good choice of locations for pool tbles, but certainly a heck of a drive whichever way you go :)

The best thing I would suggest is widen your options for both Holland and Germany, via evilbay and see what little 4.5' x 9' gems come up, but whatever you decide on, I wish you the very best of luck with the GCIII :)

I would like to recommend though, IF in the event, that you do get the GCIII, before you have it set up, try and have the shelf of the pockets brought forward a little and put double facings on the rails to tighten up the pockets, but in a way that the pockets will still be reasonably receptive of any balls going along the rail :)

ps how do you put double facings on the rail? (my technical knowlegde in english isnt very good :( ) (try not to use to many technical terms in the explenation..)

about the poolhall, yes its a pity. imagine: in brussels, the capital of europe. there are only 2 poolhals who have a 9ft'er. The biggest one, has 4 x 9ft'ers, and thats it. They quality of those tables is very very bad. Uve got lose rails, unleveled tables, cloth that looks like it came from wwII, etc, and the table are no brunsiwck, dynamic, diamond, or any other descent table. they usually are cheaper versions of the more known tables.

hence, why i need to buy one... im a bit short of space (not in the lenght, but abit short on the side) but its either that, or no table and no training and no pool at all. I cant live with that.

ps2 still no news from the GCIII... the guy seems to only post on the forum once a week... i would hate to drive to germany and then not find the guy. im going to call the diamond guy, and see if i can pay him a visit today.
he has been posting and reposting his table without any bids. (Duuuuh! there are maybe only 10 guys in belgium who own a 9ft, the demand is close to nothing, and not many are ready to drive 1000km for a table). maybe i can lower the price from 1600 to 1400 (wich in fact is the max i can give at this moment, before the paycheck arives at the end of the month.)

ill keep you updated anyway. im so exited , im going to become a dad of a cute little GC or a diamond!!! :D
