Using pledge to polish the butt?

I'm just curious if there is anyone here that actually uses pledge to polish the butt of their cues? Usually, when cleaning my cue, I just wipe the butt with a soft cloth, but I was interested in wondering if pledge actually works and if there are any cons to using it. Anyone know of any others that have been used to polish the butts of cues?

I don't know if there are any cons to it, but that's what I do and I have seen no ill effects. I actually haven't found myself pledging it that much anymore since the smoking ban went into effect here and the leather wrap doesn't get to stinking of smoke anymore.

I as well use pledge then wipe it down with a soft cloth on my Sigel custom cue and I really like it. I don't spray the wrap I just wipe it down with a dry towl. I have had only a smooth and bright finish with it....

I've been using those 'furniture wipes' (similar to Handi-Wipes) that come in the big plastic container with the pop open lid. I use them to wipe down the butt AND my shafts. It keeps my shafts smooth and slick and doesn't get 'greasy' or 'sticky'. I also keep a damp paper towel near the pooltable to keep my hands clean and not sticky with perspiration... (I also keep hot wings and BEER next to the paper towels)

I think I'll give the pledge and maybe the wipes a try. Only thing I use on my shafts is either Trewax or Q-Smooth.

You can use Pledge to polish your butt, but it burns if you have a lot of pimples!

I was told to use Lemon Pledge on my stacked leather wrap. I have used it and have not had any problems. I would not try it on any other type of wrap. I don't think it would hurt the finish on the butt.
