USPS Ground Advantage rates increasing in a few weeks

The 7.8% increase is based off of in person USPS location retail prices, so if you are using Ebay/Pirate ship then that would be like 15 - 30% less than a 7.8% increase if I'm reading it right but it gets confusing because of the current holiday upcharges what it would specifically be after.

If you are selling on Ebay this crossposting app I pay to use recommends only using set shipping rates instead of calculated because google's search engine can't calculate the item price per region/buyer so set shipping rates appear higher in google searches. They get the info straight from Ebay employees and w set shipping charges you will pocket a few extra bucks to cover packing/supplies as well. You set up ALL shipping via business policies which ironically most of the Ebay "gurus" on Youtube had been preaching not to use for quite some time lol.

I have set shipping business policies $6 1 - 8oz $8 9 - 15oz $10 1 lb - 1 lb 15oz $12 2lb - 2lb 15oz West Coast items I make less than a dollar typically or break even I'd guess HI/AK i'd lose a buck or two. PR I lost $2 - 3 bucks a few weeks back on an item, if you get offers the state typically shows up once you open the offer up! Once you set up all the weights/prices you need for shipping business policies there's a toggle menu for each new item you list that helps to streamline listing

there is constant inflation throughout the world every year unless a deep recession happens.

no one likes it but those getting raises or making more than the increased costs prosper.

those left behind suffer.

When I'm adjusting shipping I'm making it profitable for the next 2 years and then adjust. USPS prices have doubled in the past 12 years, the modern cubic shipping shit doesn't help at all even though I don't sell a lot of bulky items. IIRC they raised Priority in July, used to they just raised everything in Jan/Feb and nowadays some items get 3 - 5% increase but others can be 5 - 20% but that's off the brick and mortar retail not Ebay/Pirateship.

Correct- yet knowing that inflation will always exist- it is up to each individual to plan their financial life accordingly. People get " left behind" , for the most part, because of their own failures to plan properly and execute on a proper plan. Anyone who complains that they don't make enough money- well my Dad worked three separate jobs every week- about 75 hours a week--- for many, many years - a blue collar guy who died more than a millionaire when a million went a long way. - no bad habits- no gambling, no drugs, no heavy drinking, no womanizing, no excessive spending habits -- the five big downfalls to a successful financial life at work and in retirement.

Many beyond the WWII greatest generation just refuse to put in the hours, the sacrifices, and the savings needed to get beyond "just getting by"--gettting ahead means getting your head on straight and keeping it there for the duration- no short- cuts!
 
for what they have to do i think they all do a fantastic job. with isolated bad mistakes. which of course hurt.
