Utica,N.Y.?

Does anyone know of a former pool room owner named Gordy Green, up in Utica, N.Y. years ago. From what I understand it was named "Shamrocks", then when he moved the room and he called it "MR. REDS". If you have anything that you could tell me about him and his rooms, type of player he was, etc. I would like to hear some stories if you have some. Thanks, Jeff

Ok, so it’s been 9 years and no one knows of a pool room or a Gordy Green up in Utica, N.Y.. I’m looking for some history on a pool cue that he owned, thank in advance
 
Gotta be some Syracuse guys that can help. I've only been in the area for a few years and dont play much.

I was thinking that also. I reach out to a few Upstate N.Y.ers but nothing. Just need to reach one old timer from that area and the lights go on...lol
 
I'm from about 60 miles east of Utica, but we play all of our APA Tri Cups in Utica at Hippo's House Of Billiards. Apparently, the woman that ran the place has opened her own place down the road a bit called Utica Billiards On The Boulevard. Some of the APA league tournaments (aside from the Tri Cups) are played at Utica Billiards, but I have not been there yet. Both have multiple links if you google them, and within those links are some comments that you could follow up on for your information. Both locations list their address as Yorkville, NY, but I'm guessing that is still considered Utica.

Also look at who posted reviews on Google, or Yelp for those locations. You might find a contact in there that has been in the Utica pool scene for long enough to be able to help you out.

Rickhem, thanks for that info, maybe I’ll get somewhere with this after all.
 
Reds was a small place in the city, just a couple Gold Crowns. Don't think it was around much past the mid 90s. Played there a few times in my mid 20s.

I don't know much about Shamrocks history or the owner thought.
